POWERtalk Great Britain
BISC is part of POWERtalk Great Britain.
POWERtalk Great Britain is a registered charity with the aim of providing training in communication skills.
POWERtalk Great Britain was formerly part International Training in Communication (ITC). Although the international organisation disbanded in 2017, the legacy remains and there are many sibling clubs throughout the world. There is a great deal of experience of public speaking and leadership within the organisation, including members who have served on the international board of ITC
The other clubs in POWERtalk Great Britain are as follows:
The Rovers Club
The Rovers club is a truly international club with members on four continents. Members in Britain meet for an annual training weekend in Carlisle and a Social Weekend in the spring. Overseas members join us in occasional online meetings.
In Rovers, members develop their communication skills further by contributing to the club magazine which is issued every two months. Articles from home and overseas members are often both entertaining and enlightening.
Some Rovers have dual membership and enjoy the benefits of a more conventional public–speaking club combined with the unique qualities of the Rovers club
Scottish Clubs
There are two clubs in Scotland.
POWERtalk Pollokshields is based in the South Side of Glasgow and currently meets in a local grammar school
POWERtalk Stirling currently meets at a local sports centre.
Caledonia Council comprises the Scottish clubs and members of the Rovers club living in Scotland. The council organises joint activities including a speech contest.
